Execution interval
BackUp Maker offers a number of automation
options which allow you to backup your data at certain
intervals that you can specify yourself. The following
options are available.
Option: Execute backup in defined time interval:
In order to backup your data regularly
at a specific interval (minutes or hours), enable the
Execute every mm minutes checkbox, where
"mm" is the place holder for the number of
minutes. The box containing the default value
"10" indicates the number of minutes
between backups. The range is between 5 and 300.
Option: Execute backup at defined time
If you wish to backup your data at a
fixed time, enable the "Execute at hh:mm
o'clock", where hh:mm is the place holder for a
specific time in the format hh:mm. To change the
default time, overtype the default value
"18:00". Please note that BackUp Maker
recognizes the 24-hour format only.
Note: Combining the automation options
"interval" and "time"
You may combine both of the above
options by enabling both checkboxes. In this case,
the backup takes place at whichever time is the
earlier of the two. The following example will
illustrate this.
Example: It is 8 a.m. (08:00). The
interval option was set to "60 minutes",
the time option to "08:30". This means that
a first backup will take place at 08:30, with
subsequent backups at 60 minute intervals.
Option: Execute on system event
BackUp Maker enables you to start
backup jobs automatically when Windows will be
started/logged off. Activate the checkboxes
"Windows start" and/or "Windows
logoff" for using this functionality.
Note: Backup cannot be executed if
autostart shortcut has been deleted.
Option: Restrict to ...
Enable the Week days option if you
wish to make backups on particular days of every
week. To perform a backup on certain days of the
month only, enable the "Month days" option.
Option: Week days
By enabling the checkboxes of
specific days of the week you can restrict
backups to those days. No backups will then take
place on any other day(s).
Note: If no day of the week has
been enabled, no automatic backup of your data
will take place.
Option: Month days
Enable the checkbox of those days
of the month when you want an automatic backup to
be executed.
Note: If no day of the month
has been enabled, there is no automatic backup of
your data.
